with Fabian Salas and Lola Diaz

Saturday 24th September

Workshop 1
Milonga
The Milonga has a very strong rhythmical influence, the pulsation of the music is closer together than that of Tango, there for MILONGA has a very unique style of stepping on to the floor. Shorter staccato steps will help create a more relaxed embrace allowing flow and connection. There are a lot of figures from Tango that do not fit in Milonga, we will show you which ones.

Workshop 2
Sacadas
Crucial pointers on Sacadas for Men & Women. Mastering the Back Sacadas. Technique and interesting combinations. We believe that once the dancers understand the fundamental technique of the sacada, the dancer will be able to construct any sacada from any angle maintaining always the traditional posture and grace of the Tango.

Workshop 3
Turns, Enrosques & Planeos
Turns technique for the followers and embellishments. Enrosques technique for leaders. World famous dancers are renowned for their perfect sense of balance when turning, the axis point in which the dancers turn is the technique crucial to perform sequences you can enjoy at the Milonga. In this class we focus on balance and grace.

Lola’s favorite step.
Aguja is a particular type of enrosque that can be perform by Men & Women. Very exiting to dance and to watch.

Standards from the Old Masters
Fun and useful combinations from legendary tango masters such as: Pepito Avellaneda, Pupy Castello, Juan Bruno and Antonio Todaro among others. Understanding the development of these traditions gives the dancer a clearer picture of how iconic dance steps became standards.
